As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the national government has urged citizens to fly the tiranga (Indian Tricolor Flag) in their residences from August 13th to August 15th in observance of India’s 75th anniversary of Independence day.

The central government has launched the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to hoist the Tiranga at home to honor the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. This campaign aims to instill a sense of patriotism in the hearts of Indian residents. This campaign will last till August 15.

To part in the celebrations of India’s 75th anniversary of Independence, the Centre has invited citizens to fly the tiranga in their residences from August 13 to 15.

The government also made it clear that there are no time restrictions on flag display; any individual, business, or educational institution is free to raise the national flag on any given day or event. Before recent changes, Indian citizens earlier only permitted to hoist the tiranga on certain occasions.

Under the auspices of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” the government has been promoting the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, which calls on people to raise the Tiranga at their residences in honor of India’s 75th anniversary of Independence. The “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” campaign was introduced by the Centre last year to commemorate 75 years of Independence.

The program aims to motivate Indians, all around the world to fly the flag at home. Instead of just keeping it formal or institutional, the program seeks to personalize one’s relationship with the national flag.

The Ministry of Culture published detailed instructions on how to properly fold, and store the national flag as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.

Step 1: Position the flag horizontally.

Step 2: Tuck the mid-white band under the saffron and green belt.

Step 3: Fold the white band so that only the Ashok Chakra and a portion of the saffron and green belt are visible.

Step 4: Carry the folded flag on your arms or palms to preserve it after the procedure is over.

Through its 1.5 lakh post offices distributed across the nation, the Department of Posts, which is part of the Ministry of Communications, has sold more than one crore National flags in just ten days.

Citizens can purchase the national flag directly by going to the neighborhood post office. During the nation’s 75th Independence Day commemoration, Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav, the post office will be open on holidays.
