Is AI Going to Take Over Humanity?
Imagine waking up one day and uncovering that robots have taken over most of humankind. Is this a nightmare or a fantasy come true?
A world where robots have taken the place of people. This has already been depicted in fictitious films. Is this the actual state of the world?
Okay, so what do you exactly think about what artificial intelligence is? It is as easy as using Siri on smartphones, Google Maps, or face recognition. It is more than a machine’s capacity to mimic human behaviour and accelerate and simplify human processes. We learn or read about new technical developments every day.
Will AI surpass human performance in the same way that computers have? Engineers and scientists worry that, eventually, AI will surpass human intelligence. The usage of AI technology today spans from simple to extremely complex jobs. AI has several uses in many facets of human existence, from boosting mobile photography with AI cameras to managing financial assets.

However, as the use of AI expands, more and more individuals are becoming apprehensive about the value of human expertise and experience in various tasks.
IBM Chief Ginni Rometty thinks that to save the lives of millions of people, the healthcare sector needs artificial intelligence. Therefore, you may not have realised how infrequently or inaccurately these activities were done before.
So here the question arises AI replacing our employment or saving lives?
Many of us are blind to the fact that robots have already replaced many workers. Self-driving trucks and cars will soon replace millions of drivers’ jobs, particularly in manufacturing. A concern raised during a presidential race was the possibility of AI taking jobs away from people. We can see that it is a genuine concern for the average person. As a result, jobs will be replaced by robots in a similar way to how photocopiers replaced carbon paper. Well, AI is both a blessing and a danger to humanity.
In addition to changing numerous industries, the rise of automation and machine learning has also eliminated many employment opportunities. Humans are increasingly being replaced by machines in modern society, from self-checkout lanes at stores to online document screening.
Does this imply that machines are smarter than people?
Not. AI can only carry out very narrow jobs; it lacks human-like versatility. AI will not be able to replicate the sense of understanding that humans have from birth. Although AI is undoubtedly intelligent, it cannot learn like a person. At the same time, AI requires data for every problem and finds it challenging to tackle a problem that hasn’t been trained upon or is of a different kind.
In contrast, a youngster learns by watching how a particular problem is solved.
AI will never be intelligent enough to replace humanity, even with a tonne of data. We will never be able to develop an AI that functions like a human. Humans possess qualities like emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and human experience that AI does not possess. Humans have ultimately developed AI.
