Neeraj Chopra Brings Silver With National Record Throw Of 89.30 Cm

Chopra set a new national record of 89.30 meters throws in the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland to maintain a smile on his fans’ faces. With his outstanding performance, he has improved his own personal best which was around 88.07 m.
Last year he set a record of 88.07 in Patiala. After the five months of this record-breaking performance in Patiala, he rewrote history by winning the Gold in Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 87.58m on August 7, 2021.
In the first competitive event, Chopra shot extraordinarily as he nearly touched the 90m mark. In this event, Neeraj began the contest with an impressive 86.92m before reaching 89.30m. Despite setting a new record Neeraj was not able to bring gold as he ended up second in the contest.
The player of Finland Oliver Helander overtook Chopra with a throw of 89.83 meters. Finland’s 25-year-old Oliver Henlander who has a personal best of 88.02m and best of the season of 80.36 m, was the gold winner surprisingly. However, Chopra’s 89.30m effort will take him to the fifth spot on the world season leader’s list.
The prevailing world champion Andreson Peters of Grenada, the pre-event favorite with his impressive throw of 93.07m to win gold in the Doha Diamond League last month, was third in the championship with the best effort of 86.60 m.
It was the first defeat of Peter’s after seven wins on the trot this season. The 2012 Olympics champion Keshorn Julian Weber along with Czech Republic’s Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Jakub Vadlejch won silver in Doha with a throw of 90.88m.
Now, Chopra will take part in the Kuortane Games in Finland on Saturday where he is currently based. Also, he will feature in the Stockholm leg of the Diamond League on June 30.
