Australian GP Completes New Deal With F1
According to recent updates, F1 extends the deal with the Australia Grand Prix through 2035. Formula One has announced a ten-year contract extension for the Australia Grand Prix to stay in Melbourne through 2035. The new agreement will also bring feeder series Formula two and Formula three to the circuit for the first time by the start of next year. The organizers are keeping promises to upgrade the paddock and pit lane.
According to Martin Pakula the Australian Grand Prix never had approximately 419,000 people flocking to Albert park for this year’s race. The ministers know how grand this event is for their economy. So, we delivered the extension for the race since its last time.
Since 1996 the park has been successful in conducting more than 25 F1 races but did not have events in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of covid-19. The return of F1 in April drew the largest three-day crowd. F1 will add Las Vegas in 2023. Also, Qatar made its debut on last year’s schedule but paused this year for the World cup.
Recently Domenicali visited South Africa to meet with the representatives of the Kyalami circuit near Johannesburg about adding it to the 2023 schedule. Also, South Africa hosted the last F1 race in 1993. F1 is currently aiming for 24 events on the 2023 schedule.
The CEO of Australian Grand Prix Corporation recently said that the craze of F1 racing is growing in Asia. Australia and Asia’s equal longest-serving destinations with the Japan and Australian Grand Prix.
Formula one is yet to confirm its 2023 schedule, but the Australian Grand Prix resuming its previous traditional place at the start of the season is doubtful. The F1 calendar normally came in the final of the previous year.
