The Sri Lankan government officials are providing an extra day off a week to motivate them to grow food, amid fears of food shortage. The country has around a million public sector employees. Currently, the country is facing the issue to pay for critical imports such as fuel, food, and medicine as it faces a severe shortage of foreign currencies. The country is focusing on recovering from the loss they are facing due to the crisis.
Sri Lanka To Get 3,500 MT Of Gas:
In a recent statement, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Tuesday said that a new credit line was provided by India. It will help to support the cash-strapped island nation’s fuel purchase for another four months. The shipments from this tenure will be delivered to premises like hotels, hospitals, and crematoriums. The next shipment will be delivered in the next four months and it will take another fourteen days for us to access the shipment, said Wickremesinghe.
Lanka To Resume Flights To India From Woo Indian Tourists:
According to recent updates Sri Lanka will resume flights from Jaffna to India. On Tuesday Prime Minister Wickremesinghe asked tourism authorities to draw up plans to attract more Indian tourists. The tourism authority in Sri Lanks said that they plan to attract 800,000 tourists during the rest of the year. The Prime Minister has given instructions to resume the flights from Jaffna’s Palaly airport to Indian destinations to motivate travelers to visit Sri Lanka.
